At The Dog Leg Turn Of The Road- A multi-media theatrical production capturing the transformational relationship of a man and his WWII veteran father who has been deceased for 50+ years.
Narrated by the son and brought to life through his grandson’s stories and granddaughter’s period music, At the Dog Leg Turn of the Road shares the journey of two men as they follow the path to right the history of a man’s legacy tarnished by chronic combat stress reaction, known today as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Together the son and grandson take an emotional journey through England and France reliving what the young WWII soldier experienced as he left his wife and family to join forces in the deadliest war in human history. The son and grandson come to understand not only the grandfather’s heroics, but his humanity and how that has shaped them in their relationship with each other and the paths their lives have taken. Fueled by the approaching ceremonial 75th anniversary of D-Day, the men travel from Prince Edward Island to England just ahead of the events to ensure the solemnity of their passage. Written and produced by Melissa Batchilder in collaboration with Andy Batchilder, Amil & Haley Zavo. Featuring beloved Island actor Hank Stinson with music by Haley Zavo.
