Join us for a public reading of Melissa Mullen and Rob MacLean’s new play The Man Who Saved the Songs as part of Fresh From the Island!
In the late 1950s, Sandy Ives, a young English professor in Maine, has a career and life-altering experience when he encounters the biting, rollicking folksongs of Larry Gorman. Ives’s imagination is fired by the nearly-forgotten world of the Maine Woods and he embarks on a treasure hunt to Gorman’s homeland, Prince Edward Island, to save Gorman’s songs (and maybe his career) before they vanish forever.
Admission is Pay What You Wish, but registration is required. Please contact Kings Playhouse at kingsplayhouse.com or 902-652-2053 for more information!
